This Christmas, Plaza Low Yat goes from tech talks to tree talks, we’re levelling up our holiday spirit by reusing our past season’s decorations – because we’re going eco-tastic this season!
WHAT’S MORE, WE ARE INTRODUCING POSSIBLY THE WORLD’S FIRST INTERACTIVE RECYCLED CHRISTMAS TREE.
Our one-of-a-kind tree that not only brightens up our lives, but also exemplifies the essence of sustainable creativity, it stands tall, adorned with a beautiful array of upcycled LED panels and held in place by recycled cardboard, embodying the magic of the season in an extraordinary way.
These LED panels may have encountered a minor glitch on their journey, with many of its blue LEDs no longer aglow. Yet, we’ve taken this as an opportunity to spread even more cheer during the holiday season. As we like to say, “When Life Dims The Blue, We Shine Even Brighter With Red And Green”.
Our tree’s design meticulously organizes these panels to symbolize the layers on a traditional Christmas tree and each panel represents a unique story waiting to be told, a reminder that even when facing challenges, we can still create something beautiful and meaningful.
Why the absence of blue, you may wonder? Well, it’s quite simple. Christmas is a time for joy, togetherness and warmth. It’s a time when no one should be left feeling “blue”. Hence, we invite you to bask in the comforting embrace of red and green, colours that symbolize love, hope and the spirit of giving that define this wonderful season.
So, as you gather around our interactive recycled LED Christmas tree, let it serve as a reminder that even when things don’t go as planned, we have the power within to turn challenges into opportunities, and darkness into a celebration of light and love. May our tree inspire you to find joy in the little things and cherish the spirit of togetherness this holiday season. Merry Christmas, and may your hearts be forever aglow with the warmth of the season!

How to Have an Environmentally Friendly Holiday Season
This year, consider trying out a new way of celebrating the season to help reduce your holiday waste:
- Give a gift that needs no packaging—an experience! Offer to take friends or family on a trip to your local public park, or offer to pay the entrance fee for a nature reserve you know they would enjoy.
- Instead of a traditional holiday card, consider an e-card or a phone call to friends and family.
- When shopping for holiday foods, decorations, and gifts, use reusable shopping bags. These can be stronger than traditional single-use bags, protecting your purchases and reducing the amount of paper and plastic distributed by vendors.
- For an eye-catching gift tag, cut off the front of any holiday cards you received in the previous year. The card’s decorative front will spruce up your gift, and you can write the recipient’s name on the blank side.
- Save on gift wrap by reusing intact pieces from the previous year, or by opting for a more durable material that you can use again and again, such as a cloth bag.
- Reduce the impact of food waste by creating and sticking to shopping lists, freezing extra food, and composting uneaten food. Use reusable dishware, utensils, and napkins.
- If you have extra canned goods, consider donating them to a local food bank to help people in need.
- If you are traveling during the holidays, consider taking public transportation or car-pooling with friends or relatives. “Stack” your visits to make the miles spent on the road as efficient as possible.
- Use LED lights to save energy when decorating your home. Put lights on a timer so they are on only when they need to be.
